How Technology Helped The King of Pop – Michael Jackson Memorial…

It’s fascinating that how new media helps people to see events now at your PC or TV without even going to the place itself. One of the biggest memorials in history took place for the king of pop – Michael Jackson at the staples centre.

But now Microsoft silverlight was used to stream the whole event live.

Music services gain a lot of hits and companies earn million of profits due to technology via event. Do really company care about the person or money.

But really technology has changed our lives.

Google Apps Finally out of Beta – Half a decade and still growing…

In the little world of tech, The Word Beta is of Importance. To enterprises it suggests that a product is still undergoing tests and not quite ready for prime time. In most cases, beta periods can last a few weeks or a few months until the final release version is available.

Today, after a half a decade or so, Google’s Gmail has officially shed the Beta label, along with a handful of other Google Apps. For normal users its same old business, but for enterprises it means that finally they can consider it to be useful for their organization.

From the official Google blog post:

We’ve come to appreciate that the beta tag just doesn’t fit for large enterprises that aren’t keen to run their business on software that sounds like it’s still in the trial phase. So we’ve focused our efforts on reaching our high bar for taking products out of beta, and all the applications in the Apps suite have now met that mark.

Will it take the share out of Microsoft Exchange and Lotus? Time will tell…

But do you think that Google has taken too much of time do do this. Lets read what the company says for itself on the official blog..

We’re also launching a tool that will be particularly useful to administrative support staff to screen and send email on behalf of others – a feature called email delegation. And to help customers comply with regulations that may exist specific to their industry, we’re adding email retention so that IT administrators can set up policies to determine when email will be purged. Both retention and delegation are in testing with customers, and will start rolling out to all Premier edition domains over the next weeks.

Finally, we’re continuing to implement additional procedures to ensure that our business customers enjoy even greater reliability: live replication of data to other locations for near-instant disaster recovery, and special handling of business users’ data in our data center operations.

What do you think?

Microsoft Introduces Guided Tours for Windows 7 – Watch Out Apple Now!!!

Apple has one thing very interesting when it comes for making the user understand a product, "guided tours" soon after a new product launch. It’s an effective way of showing off a new product without looking like an advertisement, at the same time educating potential customers about the features of the product without a wordy manual or features list.

Microsoft has a series of guided tours for Windows 7 too. Maybe Microsoft is trying to become more like Apple. The secrecy and now these. Sush!!!

The videos are different themed scenarios related to the topic of the video. The animations are cool and not only that wrapped under a certain minutes staying to the point and concise. Now that's education plus marketing at it’s best.

See The rest of them Below.

Windows 7 – For as Little as $49.99 (Pre- Release) Offer…

I'm a PC and I'm about to get a major upgrade.

The Microsoft Store seeing if one could pre-order a copy of Windows 7 for as little as $49.99 (Home Premium). It’s also interesting to see Microsoft ultimately classifying Windows 7 as a major upgrade where there’s been quite a bit of a debate on whether it is a major or minor release.

I liked the New store and how Microsoft is trying to emphasize that users switch cover to Windows 7.

Just when bing is getting popular by brand and increasing it’s market share, Microsoft is not stopping the ball from rolling…Hebrew, one of the oldest languages on the planet, was added to the list of languages that bing supports. You can immediately use it in Bing Translator, in IE8, with the widget, with the messenger bot, inside Office and of course with the API.
